Spurs overcame their German counterparts last night 3-1.
Tottenham Hotspur’s under-21s took on Schalke 04 yesterday evening at the Lamex Stadium in Stevenage – winning the tie comfortably 3-1.
Two goals from hot prospect Shayon Harrison came after Luke Amos had capitalised on a mistake from Schalke keeper Christian Wetklo in a solid win in the Premier League International Cup.
Spurs are now level on three points with Schalke, FC Porto and Everton after two games.
It was a performance for Ugo Ehiogu to be proud of and their were some notable appearances in the game.
Luke McGee played in goal as a player who knows he has a future at the club. He recently signed a new contract at Spurs.
Harrison and Kenny McEvoy were in sensational form on the night and the former must be thinking his time in the first-team will soon come knocking.
Then there was the inspiring Zenon Stylianides. He played again last night, just a few days after the untimely passing of his sister from leukemia.
Finally, and Ehiogu handed one lucky teen a debut for the under-21s. Japhet Tanganga is just 16-years-old but he was thrown in at left-back for the game. The England under-16 international put in a god performance against many players far advanced in age.
The future, as ever, looks bright at Tottenham Hotspur.
