Tottenham beat Pep Guardiola’s side 2-0 on Sunday evening.

Tottenham Hotspur ended Manchester City’s 100% start to the Premier League season by beating Pep Guardiola’s side 2-0 at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

An own goal from Aleksandar Kolarov and another from Dele Alli before the break helped Tottenham into a 2-0 half-time lead in North London.

After the break, Erik Lamela missed the chance to put Spurs 3-0 ahead when Claudio Bravo kept out his 65th-minute penalty, but it never looked like coming back to haunt the Argentine as Mauricio Pochettino’s side held on for a comfortable enough win.

There was a touching moment after the game when Son Heung-min and Pochettino shared a warm embrace on the touchline, while Toby Alderweireld’s post-match facial expression in another picture sums up his passion for the Lilywhites’ cause.

Given that City had won all seven of their Premier League games under Guardiola, winning was a big deal and it showed on Alderweireld’s face.
