Arsenal slipped to a 2-0 defeat against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday evening.
The Gunners failed to get their Champions League campaign off to the start they would have hoped for, as goals from Ciro Immobile and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang gave Jurgen Klopp’s side the win.
Despite a promising start to their Premier League campaign, this performance against the Bundesliga giants simply was not good enough, as Arsene Wenger’s men were outfought and could easily have conceded far more than two goals.
Hector Bellerin aside, this was arguably Arsenal’s strongest 11 which means Wenger has a lot of work to do in the months ahead to ensure their Champions League dream is not ended in the group stage.
In truth the Gunners should still have enough to get past Galatasaray and Anderlecht but this performance is likely to have worried the Frenchman as he looks to take Arsenal to the next level after their FA Cup triumph last season.
