A selection of images from Scotland’s win against Gibraltar including players from Celtic, Sunderland and Everton.
Scotland defeated Gibraltar 6-1 in their Euro 2016 qualifying match on Sunday afternoon.
Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher scored a hat-trick while Chicago Fire midfielder Shaun Maloney netted a brace and Everton’s Steven Naismith also got on the score-sheet.
While the win proved to be a comfortable one the match was not always pretty and Gibraltar were well-drilled throughout.
They even managed to score their first competitive goal to equalise shortly after Maloney’s opener but their celebrations were short-lived.
The result means Scotland stayed level on points with second-placed Germany, with both sides now just a single point behind group leaders Poland.
Celtic midfielder Scott Brown captained the side on Sunday but fellow Bhoys player – and one of their stand-out stars this season – Craig Gordon had to make do with a place on the bench.
Whether the Celtic goalkeeper would have conceded against the minnows remains to be seen, but he will be hoping to get back in the starting line-up the next time Gordon Strachan’s side take to the field.
Sunderland’s Fletcher is no doubt hoping that this hat-trick is the catalyst he needs to fire the Black Cats up the Premier League table in what remains of the domestic campaign.
