Tottenham Hotspur lost away at Crystal Palace this afternoon.

Tottenham Hotspur are out of the FA Cup after suffering a 2-0 defeat away at Crystal Palace this afternoon, just days after losing to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup on Thursday.
Spurs lost to Chelsea on penalties on Thursday to rule one trophy out, and another is off the table for Mauricio Pochettino’s men after today’s defeat.
Tottenham named a rotated side with the likes of Kyle Walker-Peters, Juan Foyth, Oliver Skipp and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou all named in the starting line-up.
Spurs fell behind early on as Connor Wickham – who has been through injury hell of late – scored an emotional goal to put Palace in front.
Palace then scored from the spot as Andros Townsend converted against his former club after a handball by Walker-Peters, leaving Spurs with a mountain to climb.
Spurs did have a route back in as Foyth was fouled by Patrick van Aanholt inside the area, but Kieran Trippier stepped up and blazed the ball wide of the target.

Trippier’s performance was the latest in a string of disappointing showings from the England international, with fans growing increasingly frustrated with his displays after such a strong World Cup.
The images here sum up Trippier’s latest difficult afternoon, showing his anguish at missing a penalty before trudging off the field in a tough defeat, as Tottenham’s FA Cup hopes came to an end – and Trippier may have to worry about Serge Aurier moving forward.
