The Australian is wanted by Mark Warburton at Ibrox, but scored for St Mirren v Rangers in 2011.
Rangers are being linked with a move for Australian international midfielder Aaron Mooy.
It was reported by The Herald Sun last month that Rangers were keen on bringing the player to Glasgow, initially on trial, but that was denied by his current club Melbourne City.
Judging by his recent good showing against England in an international friendly it is unlikely that interest as dissipated from Ibrox boss Mark Warburton.
The 25-year-old has of course played in Scotland before.
He joined St Mirren from Bolton Wanderers in 2010 aged 19 and went on to play 29 times for the club, scoring just two goals, and failing to make a lasting impression after fighting a back injury.
Except, he did score against Rangers. Mooy netted on Christmas Eve 2011 at St Mirren Park in a game they won 2-1 in Paisley.
So Mooy has previous when it comes to the Glasgow club.
Rangers would certainly love to give him a chance at scoring somemore goals in the top flight of Scottish football.
Mooy scored 15 goals from midfield for Melbourne City last season and has established himself in the Australia starting XI.
Adding Mooy would be a fantastic move from Mark Warburton and Rangers – who have already brought in fellow midfielders Joey Barton and Jordan Rossiter this summer.
