What a disappointing season it’s been for Reiss Nelson at Arsenal.
Between injury and being well down the pecking order in North London, the 21-year-old has mustered only 440 minutes so far across all competitions in the 2020-21 campaign – the equivalent of less than five full matches.
To make matters worse, Mikel Arteta made him – and Eddie Nketiah – available for an Arsenal Under-23 game earlier this month in what represented another blow for Nelson.
The Gunners’ academy product was photographed at London Colney this afternoon as Arteta put his side through their paces ahead of Thursday’s visit of Olympiacos.
Nelson, who has played once for Arsenal this calendar year, was included in the Spaniard’s updated Europa League squad, but it seems unlikely that Arteta will call on him tomorrow.

Arsenal go into tomorrow’s clash at the Emirates with three away goals, after winning the first leg 3-1 last week in Greece.
