Everton’s torrid Premier League form continued on Sunday afternoon as they suffered a 2-0 defeat away at Leicester City.
The Toffees went into the game having lost five of their first nine Premier League games, and the 5-2 defeat to Arsenal last weekend cost Ronald Koeman his job.
Caretaker manager David Unsworth took charge of Sunday’s trip to Leicester in the hope of turning around the club’s fortunes, but he saw the Toffees lose yet again.
Wayne Rooney of Everton looks despondent as he is substituted
A superb run from Demarai Gray cut open the Everton defence, culminating in Riyad Mahrez teeing up Jamie Vardy to smash home from close range.
Everton’s first half got even worse when Gray’s cross from the left was sliced into his own net by right back Jonjoe Kenny, and the Toffees simply couldn’t get themselves back into the game as they fell to a 2-0 defeat.
Everton remain in the relegation zone after Sunday’s defeat, and with just two wins from ten games, the Toffees are heading towards November with major concerns about their season and their future.

Once again, Everton’s players looked downbeat and dejected with another loss, with veteran Phil Jagielka particularly summing up the feeling at full time, as seen above.
Wayne Rooney cut a disconsolate figure as he was substituted, whilst the frustration was clear for every player after Vardy’s early goal, which set the tone for another miserable afternoon.
