Odsonne Edouard shone as Celtic beat the Norwegian outfit 3-1.

Celtic are big favourites to move into the third round of Champions League qualifiers after beating Rosenborg on Wednesday.

The Hoops fell behind after 15 minutes, but two goals from Odsonne Edouard and Olivier Ntcham either side of the half-time break put Brendan Rodgers’s side in the driving seat.

Edouard then completed his brace with 15 minutes to go as Celtic established daylight in the tie.

The 20-year-old French striker joined the Bhoys for a record £8 million this summer and he looks like he is loving life at Parkhead, proving his affection for the club by patting the crest during his celebration.

Scott Brown was his usual, tenacious self in midfield, making it very difficult for the Norwegian champions to establish a foothold in the game as it grew older.

And Rodgers was photographed hugging the 32-year-old captain – a £4.4 million signing in 2007 [The Guardian] – at full time.

If they negotiate the return leg successfully, Rodgers’s side play AEK Athens in the third round of qualifiers and will move that bit closer to another £30 million windfall by reaching the group stages.
