Nottingham Forest addressed their goalkeeping problems recently with the signing of Vladimir Stojkovic from Israeli club Maccabi Haifa.

The 33-year-old brings with him plenty of experience from playing in eight different countries in his career.

One of those countries has already been England.

Stojkovic was signed on loan by Wigan Athletic in December 2009. Interestingly, the Forest newbie in fact made his Wigan debut against local rivals Notts County in January 2010.

Stojkovic featured in the fixture at Meadow Lane – which finished 2-2.

The Serbian conceded twice in the game, with Lee Hughes and Ben Davies scoring in the game.

The Forest goalie therefore has some idea of what it is like to play in Nottingham – even if it was on the other side of the Trent.

Forest take on Leeds United in the Premier League this weekend and Philippe Montanier has a decision to make regarding his starting stopper, with Stephen Henderson and Stojkovic both hoping to get the nod.

The newbie struggled in his last stint in English football and will be hoping for better at Forest.
