The two were on loan at Nottingham Forest and Guingamp respectively last season, but have recently suffered with injury.
Newcastle United have been training today ahead of their meeting with Leicester City tomorrow afternoon.
And a couple of faces really stood out. Firstly it was good to see Karl Darlow finally joining in training with the rest of the Newcastle keepers.
He was pictured along with Rob Elliot, Freddie Woodman and Brendan Pearson in action as the four battle for the number one jersey in the absence of the injured Tim Krul. Darlow has been out injured for much of the season so far. The 25-year-old has only played once for Newcastle since joining up with the club this summer, 12 months after signing from Nottingham Forest.
Then there is Sylvain Marveaux. The Frenchman was deemed surplus to requirements under the previous management at St James Park. He was loaned out to French side Guingamp for the 2014-15 season where he performed well – playing 31 times and scoring three goals.
But he picked up an injury in pre-season and has only just returned to action.
Both players will now be pushing for a place on the bench for Steve McClaren’s side by giving it their all in training.
