Newcastle will take on Ipswich at St. James’ Park in the league in a few hours’ time.
Rafael Benitez’s side will head into the match against the Tractor Boys on the back of a 2-0 victory over Barnsley away from home at Oakwell in the Championship.
The Magpies are currently at the top of the league table with 28 points from 13 matches, just a point clear of second-placed Norwich City.
Newcastle are going strong at the moment, and the players looked quite cheerful and upbeat in Friday’s training session, as the photos below show.
The Magpies are favourites to win the Championship title this season and gain automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
Meanwhile, Ipswich find themselves 12th in the league table at the moment with 17 points from 13 matches.
Mick McCarthy’s side are four points behind Sheffield Wednesday, who are sixth in the league table and occupy the final playoff spot.
