Everton have been busy in the summer transfer window and they have not finished just yet.
Some of Everton’s new faces have been put through their paces as they gear up for a vital pre-season at Goodison Park.
Wayne Rooney became the latest player to move (back) to the Toffees this summer when he completed a free transfer from Manchester United on Sunday, and he joins the likes of Davy Klaassen and former Old Trafford teammate Michael Keane in Ronald Koeman’s new-look squad.
Jordan Pickford, Sandro Ramirez and Henry Onyekuru have also joined Everton already this summer, although the latter will spend next season on loan at Anderlecht, and following Romelu Lukaku’s departure a new striker is expected to arrive in due course.
Such has been Everton’s recruitment drive over recent weeks that many will expect them to mount a serious challenge on the top four next season, as well as pushing for success in the cup competitions, and while Koeman has a job moulding his new additions into an effective team, that is an envious position to be in.
The Toffees are enjoying a far better transfer window than some of the other sides hoping to qualify for the Champions League next season and, with the right replacement for Lukaku, Koeman could sit back in September after a job well done.
Keane looks set to become one of the best centre-backs England have produced for many years while Rooney will be aiming to prove his doubters wrong and Sandro should prove to be an absolute steal.
