Mousa Dembele helped Tottenham Hotspur to a 2-1 win on Saturday.

Mousa Dembele has been linked with a summer move away from Tottenham Hotspur, amid an impasse in contract negotiations.

The Telegraph suggested this past week that the Belgium international – whose contract expires in 2019 – could potentially leave Spurs if a three-year extension is not tabled by the club’s hierarchy.

The 30-year-old star, who earns around £80,000 per week with the Lilywhites, helped Tottenham to a 2-1 win at Stoke City and his post-match celebrations indicated a degree of passion for the club.

Christian Eriksen scored two second-half goals, either side of Mame Biram Diouf’s equaliser, to give Spurs all three points and propel them nine points above Chelsea in the race for a top-four finish.

The victory at Stoke also saw the return of striker Harry Kane, who suffered an ankle injury in the 4-1 win at Bournemouth last month to raise fears over whether he could play a prominent role in Tottenham’s run in – and their FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United in two weeks.

But Kane, who has 35 goals for the Lilywhites this season, seems to have come through the test unscathed.
