Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action today as they host Leicester City just days after their 2-1 defeat at Liverpool.

That disappointing late loss at Anfield means Jose Mourinho will hope to bounce back today, though a clash against Brendan Rodgers’ inconsistent Leicester side isn’t ideal.

Mourinho may consider some changes to his side, with Tanguy Ndombele in training on Friday ahead of today’s game.

There was a particularly interesting face in training though, as midfielder Alfie Devine appeared in first-team preparations.

Devine, 16, joined Spurs from Wigan Athletic over the summer, with Tottenham paying around £300,000 to lure him from the cash-trapped Latics.

He made headlines just days ago with a red card against Chelsea Under-23’s, having committed a rash foul on Danny Drinkwater before being involved in a scuffle with the Blues misfit.

Jose Mourinho appears to have been suitably impressed with Devine to call him into first-team training, and whilst a Premier League debut today is unlikely, he is making rapid progress.

To be playing Under-23 football and training with the Spurs first team at just 16 is remarkable, and goes to show just how highly Tottenham and Mourinho value the ex-Liverpool midfielder.
