The first-team boss watched the PL2 side draw 1-1 with Manchester United thanks to Shayon Harrison’s goal.
Tottenham’s Shayon Harrison in action with Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet
Tottenham Hotspur’s development team took on their Manchester United counterparts in the Premier League 2 this afternoon – emerging from the game with a 1-1 draw.
It was a hard fought result from the Spurs players, with the goalscorer surely pleased to have found the back of the net.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
Shayon Harrison was given his first-team debut for Spurs in the EFL Cup loss to Liverpool at Anfield this week. He missed a great opportunity to score in the game with a poor touch inside the Liverpool area and would have been looking to impress again.
Not only did he do that in the game at Hotspur Way, but he did so in front of Spurs first-team boss Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine made his way down to watch the game and observe his young talent in action.
The Spurs boss has made the development of young players into the first-team a clear philosophy of his at White Hart Lane and, of the current under-23 crop, there is high hope that Harrison might just fit the bill.
Spurs fans will no doubt hope he can continue to improve in the youth system and make it into the first-team.
