Leeds United take on Cardiff City at Elland Road this afternoon, hoping to get back to winning ways after a spell of poor form. Such a result would also help them in their flagging pursuit of a play-off spot come the end of the season.
With that in mind Thomas Christiansen had the players training on the Elland Road turf yesterday afternoon, in preparation for the fixture.
The club posted some pictures of the session on their official Twitter page, showing the likes of Ronaldo Vieira and Adam Forshaw in action.
But one man who appeared in the gallery is perhaps more important than the rest. That player is defender Matthew Pennington.
He missed the recent 0-0 draw with Hull City with a knock and Leeds were left short at the back as a consequence. Liam Cooper is suspended, Connor Shaughnessy also picked up an injury whilst Luke Ayling is out for the rest of the season. With Pontus Jansson also one booking away from suspension, Leeds were looking thin on the ground.

But seeing the Everton loanee back in training will be welcome news for Leeds fans, even if the thought of Gaetano Berardi at centre-back will have the fans both excitable and anxious.
Hopefully Pennington can do the job for Leeds in their hour of need.
