Tottenham Hotspur’s young gems thumped Reading 4-1 in the Premier League 2.

Marcus Edwards scored twice as Tottenham Hotspur thrashed Reading in the Premier League 2 this afternoon.
The 17-year-old, fresh from impressing with Spurs’ senior side in Australia this summer, opened the scoring on 32 minutes by finding the top corner from the edge of the penalty area.
Two minutes after the break, Edwards bagged his and Tottenham’s second with another fine strike, before highly-rated striker Will Miller added a third 60 seconds later.
And Shayon Harrison completed the scoring for Ugo Ehiogu’s side on 51 minutes, while Andy Rinomhota grabbed a consolation late on for Reading.
Pochettino singled out Edwards for special praise last month (quoted by The Sun) after showcasing his talent Down Under during a couple of friendlies against Juventus and Atletico Madrid.
And the Argentine will be happy to see the teenager sticking to his task in the lesser games.
Spurs will enter the League Cup in the next round and Pochettino may be tempted to experiment with a few of his gems – and Edwards is certain to be among them, if he does.
