Anders Lindegaard and Rio Ferdinand share a friendly banter on social media ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Rio Ferdinand will return to Old Trafford on Sunday for the first time since leaving Manchester United at the end of last season.
The former England international defender’s contract with the Red Devils ran out at the end of the 2013-14 campaign and he was allowed to leave on a free transfer.
Ferdinand has since signed for newly-promoted Premier League club Queens Park Rangers and has already featured for them in the league.
On Sunday, the 35-year-old centre-back will play against United, and the Manchester outfit’s goalkeeper, Anders Lindegaard, has welcomed him with a rather amusing message.
On Thursday evening, the Denmark international posted the following photo on Instagram along with the message: ‘@rioferdy5 back at Old Trafford on Sunday… Can’t wait to see him again though it could get awkward! #whosyourdaddy #mufc #manchesterunited #oldtrafford’.
Ferdinand was not going to shy away from replying to his former United teammate and posted the following message on Twitter, only for Lindegaard to hit back.
