Tottenham Hotspur’s players are going to remember this weekend for quite some time, after they overcame Arsenal in dramatic fashion.
Two goals from Harry Kane – which took his tally for the season to 22 – ensured Tottenham climbed above Arsenal in the Premier League table, leaving Mesut Ozil’s 11th-minute strike as a mere consolation.
Tottenham started the season well before slipping somewhat, with ever-changing line-ups and a string of half-time substitutions suggesting manager Mauricio Pochettino was a long way from settling on his strongest line-up.
But those days have been forgotten and now there is absolutely no doubt that Tottenham are viable contenders for a top-four place once again.
Kane may have been the goal-scoring hero on Saturday, but Spurs’ latest victory was very much a team effort. They played brilliantly throughout and got the better of an Arsenal side who also gave their all, but simply came up against a better side on the day.
