The Austrian international is struggling to feature regularly for Spurs at the moment.
Tottenham’s Kevin Wimmer reacts
This week saw more questions arise over the future of Tottenham Hotspur defender Kevin Wimmer. The Austrian has slipped down the pecking order at White Hart Lane in recent months. With the injury to Toby Alderweireld many Spurs fans felt Wimmer would come back into contention.
However, that has not been the case for the Austrian international. Eric Dier has dropped into the back from a midfield position to replace the crocked Belgian. Welsh international Ben Davies is considered a centre-back alternative on the bench whilst Cameron Carter-Vickers, the teenage American international, continues to maintain his place in the first-team picture.
It leaves Wimmer out of the matchday squad at the moment – which has seen some suggesting he could leave the club.
But he looked fairly content in Spurs training today. He was seen laughing and joking in a more relaxed session from Mauricio Pochettino’s men and certainly didn’t look like a man desperately unhappy.

Spurs boss Pochettino was adamant this week that Wimmer remains part of his plans and whilst the player himself will not be happy watching on, he will just be waiting for an opportunity to prove his worth.
