Celtic made it four Old Firm wins from five games this season by beating Rangers 2-0 in their Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Bhoys went into the game having already won the Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup, and were closing in on an unbeaten domestic campaign and an historic treble.
Meanwhile, Rangers – who drew their last game with Celtic 1-1 last month – had gone five games without defeat under new manager Pedro Caixinha, meaning Gers fans went into the game with some hope of a surprise win.
However, those hopes were dented early on as Callum McGregor put Celtic in front after just 11 minutes, with the Scot passing the ball into the far corner of the net from the edge of the box after Moussa Dembele’s play-off.
Scott Sinclair then sealed a 2-0 win by scoring from the penalty spot, after James Tavernier had been penalised for hacking down Leigh Griffiths inside the area.
Caixinha tasted defeat for the first time as Rangers manager with that loss, with Celtic now moving onto the final to take on Aberdeen, with just one game standing in their way from a remarkable treble.
The Bhoys players and manager Brendan Rodgers all celebrated wildly at the final whistle, with many of those stars now becoming very familiar with celebrating wins over their Glasgow rivals.
Meanwhile, Rangers star Kenny Miller summed up the disappointment in the Rangers camp by showing his anguish during the game, with fellow attacker Joe Dodoo also cutting a dejected figure at full time.
