Tottenham Hotspur fell to defeat against Arsenal this evening, meaning Erik Lamela’s stunning goal ultimately didn’t mean much in the end.

Lamela started the game was a substitute, but was thrown on early into the first half as Son Heung-min picked up an injury.

The Argentinian opened the scoring with an unbelievable goal, pulling off an outrageous rabona rabona to beat Bernd Leno for the opener.

It counted for little in the end though, as Martin Odegaard and Alexandre Lacazette found the net to give Arsenal all three points with a 2-1 win.

Lamela even found time to get himself sent off in the second half as his Sunday turned from looking rather uneventful to being action-packed.

His goal will live long in the memory despite Spurs falling to defeat, and fans likely felt exactly like Sergio Reguilon when the ball hit the net.

The Tottenham left back had his hands on his head as Lamela scored, seemingly in disbelief at what he had just seen.

Reguilon’s expression was one of complete shock at such an amazing goal, but the feeling tonight will be one of disappointment after defeat.
