Aston Villa’s new signing from Nottingham Forest was instrumental when the teams played out a 2-2 draw earlier this season.
Aston Villa finalised the long-protracted transfer of Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury this week. The midfielder, who was set to be out of contract at the end of the season, signed for a fee reported by Sky Sports to be in the region of £3 million earlier this week.
Of course, Aston Villa know first-hand the impact that Lansbury can have at this level. Earlier this season he starred at Villa Park in a 2-2 draw between the sides.

He provided the assist for Apostolos Vellios’ opening goal of the game. Then, with Forest 2-1 down, he scored the crucial equaliser in the 87th minute.
It was a brilliant performance from the midfielder, but one that fans of Nottingham Forest have got used to seeing during Lansbury’s career at the City Ground.

He is also not afraid to throw his weight around. Just ask Jonathan Kodjia. The big forward and Lansbury clashed during the game.
The tenacious midfielder will not have met the striker again just yet, as he is in Gabon representing the Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations.
