Leeds United need their key players in key positions to perform against Middlesbrough this weekend.
Leeds United will be looking to make it five wins in their last six games in the Championship this weekend, but they face a massive challenge as they visit league leaders Middlesbrough.
We’ve looked at five key players for Leeds ahead of the game.
Marco Silvestri
Leeds’ goalkeeper hasn’t been grabbing the headlines in the same way as some of the outfield players over the last couple of weeks, but he’s been solid and quietly going about his business. Leeds need him to be on top form for this game.
Sol Bamba
Can the central defender maintain his recent form? He’s been solid since arriving at the club on loan from Palermo. He’s going to be important in terms of dealing with the pressure dished out by Middlesbrough and keeping the back four well organised.
Rodolph Austin
Middlesbrough have some very talented and creative midfield players such as Patrick Bamford. Austin is going to be key for Leeds in terms of getting stuck in, breaking up the play effectively and starting attacks for his team when he wins back possession.
Alex Mowatt
Scored the only goal of the game as Leeds defeated Millwall last weekend. Whether he plays off to the left or moves into a more central role, he’ll be an important player in terms of supporting the attack.
Steve Morison
He needs a goal, but he’s also important as a target man style striker. If Leeds take a lot of pressure during this game, they need someone who can hold possession up if they have to play long to release pressure over the back four.
