Manchester United and Sunderland go head-to-head on Boxing Day.
Manchester United’s players were put through their paces ahead of their Premier League clash with Sunderland on Boxing Day.
There was good news with defender Eric Bailly appearing to be back on contention following a fresh knee injury that saw him substituted against Crystal Palace.
The Ivorian missed the clash with West Bromwich Albion but he was all smiles at United’s training ground ahead of the vital festive fixtures.
Unfortunately Henrikh Mkhitaryan was not present, although it remains to be seen if he was back in his homeland to collect the Armenian Footballer of the Year award or if he will be forced to sit out a third successive match.
That will be bad news for United, who were initially hopeful of seeing Mkhitaryan return against the Black Cats, although they have done well in his absence.
Chris Smalling, Morgan Schneiderlin, Michael Carrick, Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera were also in action and it will be interesting to see who United manager Jose Mourinho opts to start next week.
