Domingos Quina was included in West Ham United’s training session on Monday.

Domingos Quina hasn’t played a senior game for West Ham United in three months but training pictures on Monday suggested that could be about to change.

David Moyes put West Ham through their paces as the Irons prepare for a League Cup quarter-final trip to Arsenal tomorrow night.

And the 18-year-old midfielder was among those who trained as Moyes prepares to name a second-string XI at the Emirates Stadium.

It might be a quarter-final, but the priority for West Ham this season is to stay in the Premier League and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Scottish manager effectively sacrifices it.

Quina hasn’t had a sniff of first-team action since the 3-0 win over Bolton in an earlier phase of the tournament back in September, but his presence on the training ground might well suggest that Moyes is ready to play him.

The teenager is one of the most exciting young prospects in the Hammers’ youth ranks, but an impressive performance might make it even harder for the East Londoners to hang on to him in Janaury amid speculation from The Mirror that Liverpool are ‘frontrunners’.

Moyes’s predecessor Slaven Bilic brought him to the club 18 months ago, and the Croatian manager last year claimed that the youngster had “something exceptional”, in an interview with the club’s official website.
