Tottenham Hotspur’s fine recent form continued on Sunday afternoon as they hammered Liverpool 4-1 at Wembley Stadium.
After beating Bournemouth 1-0 and picking up a 1-1 draw away at Real Madrid in the Champions League, Spurs faced a huge test as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool arrived for a key Premier League clash.

Mauricio Pochettino saw his men obliterate Liverpool early on, as Harry Kane rounded Simon Mignolet to score early on, before Kane teed up Son Heung-min with a superb pass, with the South Korean making it 2-0.
Mohamed Salah pulled a goal back for Liverpool, but goals either side of half time from Dele Alli and Kane handed Spurs all three points in a thumping 4-1 win.

Spurs continue to impress under Pochettino, and his side have now moved level on points with Manchester United, though they do still trail league leaders Manchester City.
Pochettino will have been particularly pleased that his side turned in such a strong performance given that his compatriot and Argentinian legend Diego Maradona was in the stands to watch Spurs in action.

Maradona not only watched on from the stands, taking photos with fans, but also posed with a Tottenham shirt on the pitch at half time as he was introduced to the crowd as Spurs’ special guest for the day, alongside club hero Ossie Ardiles.
Maradona will surely have been impressed with such a superb attacking display from Spurs, and Pochettino will be delighted to have seen his side excel in front of one of his heroes at Wembley Stadium.
