The Rams got the better of Leeds United 1-0 at the iPro Stadium, thanks to Johnny Russell’s goal in the 56th minute.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, hosts Derby had 47% of the possession, took nine shots of which three were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Leeds had 53% of the possession, took 13 shots of which only two were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.
The match against the Whites was Steve McClaren’s first in charge of Derby, having recently been re-appointed as the club’s first-team manager.
The former Newcastle United boss was sacked as the Derby manager 17 months ago.
It was a winning return to the iPro Stadium for McClaren, who is one of the best English coaches around.
The former Nottingham Forest manager enjoyed his team’s win against Leeds, as did the players.
Derby are 19th in the Championship table at the moment with 13 points from 12 matches, just three points above the relegation zone.
