The Tottenham Hotspur star netted twice for Denmark recently.
Denmark bounced back from two successive defeats in World Cup qualifying by thumping Kazakhstan 4-1 on Friday night.
Andreas Cornelius’s opener for the Danes was cancelled out by Gafurzhan Suyumbayev on 17 minutes in what was a fine start to the Group E clash in Copenhagen.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen made it 2-1 with a penalty on 36 minutes, before Peter Ankersen sealed the points in the final quarter.
But there was still time for the Tottenham man – yet to score for Spurs in the Premier League this season – to add a fourth as Eriksen and Denmark enjoyed a fine victory the other night.
And Danish boss Age Hareide was clearly delighted with the former Ajax starlet at full time.
The 24-year-old playmaker has come under scrutiny in recent weeks for his lack of goals in the Premier League, with Harry Kane’s lengthy absence demanding that more midfielders chip in.
But his brace on international duty may lead to something of a purple patch in front of goal in a white shirt now.
