The Magpies will head into the match on the back of a 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at St. James’ Park in the league.

Rafael Benitez’s side did not make a great start to the 2016-17 Championship campaign, but they are in brilliant form at the moment, having won their last three league matches.
Newcastle will head into the match against Derby as favourites, but the players were working hard in training on Friday.

Among the players who attended Friday’s session was Christian Atsu, who joined Newcastle from Premier League giants Chelsea in the summer transfer window (see photos below).
The 24-year-old completed his season-long loan move to the Magpies on transfer deadline day.

The Ghana international is available for the match against Derby on Saturday evening, and it will be interesting to see if the midfielder starts at the iPro Stadium.
