Tottenham Hotspur didn’t bring in a new signing on deadline day, meaning Carlos Vinicius was their final signing of the international window.
Spurs had to bring in a striker this summer, and Jose Mourinho was vocal about his need for another centre forward to support Harry Kane.
A whole host of names were linked with joining Tottenham, but Vinicius ended up being the striker that Mourinho lured to North London.
Vinicius isn’t exactly a household name, and has been something of a nomadic striker having turned out for Caldense, Gremio Anapolis, Real Sport Clube, Napoli, Rio Ave, Monaco and Benfica.
Last season, Vinicius smashed 24 goals for Benfica as well as 13 assists, and his exploits in Portugal made him something of a wanted man.
The Brazilian has now been lured to Tottenham, and fits what Mourinho wanted in terms of a physical yet mobile target man who can pose a threat from the bench.
On Wednesday, Vinicius was spotted in Tottenham training for the first time, as the club posted photos of him in action at Hotspur Way.
Fans will be keen to see the 25-year-old in action, and the international break has arguably come at a great time for Vinicius, as he can focus on training at Tottenham and settling in ahead of his Premier League debut.
