The Leeds United star literally plays with a smile on his face.

It is difficult not to like Leeds United striker Caleb Ekuban.

Not only does the 22-year-old look a pretty promising signing following his £500,000 move from Chievo Verona in the summer, but the Italy-born striker literally plays with a smile on his face.

Ekuban, who has already missed three months of the season through injury, started up front for Leeds in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Barnsley and earned positive reviews from fans and pundits for his display.

And the youngster could often be found grinning from ear to ear, clearly delighted to be back on the football pitch again, and fans of the Elland Road club pointed this out on Twitter.

United got the three points through first-half goals from Samu Saiz and in-form Egzjan Alioski, who now has four goals in his last five games for the club.

The Macedonia international is a man in superb form but Leeds fans could have been forgiven for fearing the worst when the 25-year-old winced in pain over a second-half challenge at Oakwell.

Leeds, who have won two of their last three games, face in-form Aston Villa next week and Ekuban could and should be given something else to smile about when head coach Thomas Christiansen starts him up front again.
