Arsenal are back to work ahead of another huge campaign at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal’s players have been put through their paces as they return to pre-season training, with new addition Sead Kolasinac among those in action.
The left-back moved to the Gunners on a free transfer earlier this summer, and while he is the only new arrival to date, he is soon expected to be joined by French international Alexandre Lacazette, with Sky Sports claiming the Lyon man is in London for a medical this afternoon.
Arsenal fans were divided when it was announced that Arsene Wenger would remain in charge this season after putting pen to paper on a new deal. However, the early signs are encouraging and, if the Gunners add a few more quality players to their ranks this summer, they should mount a serious title charge.
While Kolasinac will be targeting a first-team starting role from the outset, some of Arsenal’s next generation will be looking for loan moves or more opportunities with the second string.
One such player is 18-year-old striker Eddie Nketiah, who is widely regarded as one of the most exciting teenagers coming through the ranks at Arsenal right now.
He has a long way to go, but he is likely to seize every chance available to him, including being involved with the senior stars as Wenger sets things in motion ahead of a busy pre-season schedule of fitness work and friendlies.
Only time will tell how next season plays out for Arsenal, yet things are certainly looking brighter than they were a few short weeks ago.
