Leeds United edged out Reading in a nervy win at Elland Road last night.
Leeds United moved second in the Championship on Tuesday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side secured a nervy 1-0 win over Reading at Elland Road.
There were two heroes for Leeds last night. Stuart Dallas might’ve scored the goal which led to the three points, but goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell preserved them.
The Northern Ireland international saved a last-minute penalty from Gareth McCleary to deny the Royals.
It was by no means an easy victory for Leeds and tempers occasionally ran high, with an angry-looking Bielsa snapped in one photograph, while United owner Andrea Radrizzani – normally in the Director’s box – was spotted in the background, just off the touchline.
Like Bielsa, Leeds winger Ezgjan Alioski didn’t look the picture of happiness at one point after referee Mike Dean booked him for simulation, after going to ground under a challenge from Tiago Ilori.
The Whites, who picked up successive Championship wins for the first time since August, have a much tougher contest on the horizon, with Bielsa’s side visiting promotion-chasing Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.
