Liverpool moved into the semi-final of the FA Youth Cup with a 3-1 win over Arsenal’s Under-18 side at Anfield last night.

Goals from Max Woltman, James Norris and highly-rated wonderkid Mateusz Musialowski gave Liverpool quite a comfortable victory.

James Balagizi wasn’t among the goals, but the towering 17-year-old still had a big role in one of them.

Musialowski completed the scoring with a brilliant solo effort, turning an Arsenal defender inside out before rifling a left-footed finish past a shocked-looking Ovie Ejeheri in the Gunners’ net.

But the counter attack started with some powerful running from midfielder Balagizi who, in addition to being a very promising player, looks huge.

Well, he does when stood next to Norris – who scored from the penalty spot – anyway after towering over his team-mate.

Here’s some photos of the Liverpool victory:

Interestingly, Jurgen Klopp, who is revered by fans of the Anfield club for his work with the senior side since 2015, was among the onlookers at the famous stadium last night.

None of the players on show will be getting competitive first-team appearances anytime soon, but the German will have been taking notes and who knows, with a pre-season campaign on the horizon, some might find themselves being given a taste of friendly action.
