West Ham United released some training pictures of Sebastien Haller on Tuesday – and there was a bonus image of another Hammers star.
The East Londoners broke their transfer record in signing the French hitman for £45 million last week [Evening Standard].
On Tuesday, he took part in Manuel Pellegrini’s training session after the team returned home from Asia and there was a forgotten man spotted in one of them.
Winston Reid hasn’t made a competitive appearance for West Ham since way back in March of 2018. It’s so long ago, in fact, that he hasn’t even played under Pellegrini as of yet.
It’s been an injury-ravaged spell for the New Zealand international but he’ll be hoping that he can make up for lost time from here on in.
Thing is, he’s nowhere near Pellegrini’s first XI at the moment after Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena both enjoyed stellar first seasons at West Ham last term.
But Reid, who has been a Hammer for nine years, is made of very strong stuff and being only 31, he will still feel young enough to stake a claim – if he can stay fit.
