Well, Sadio Mane is looking certain to leave Liverpool.
Given that the Reds have already signed a replacement for the Senegal international in the form of Darwin Nunez – who cost a club-record £85 million – an exit for the Bayern Munich-linked attacker is seemingly inevitable.
The Bundesliga giants have had two offers knocked back for the Liverpool forward but, according to The Echo, are planning a third attempt.
Some supporters of the Anfield outfit will be angry at Mane, who told Fenway Sports Group after the Champions League final that he wanted to leave Merseyside.
But most of them will be eternally grateful and that’s because on the pitch and off it, the 30-year-old is a class act.
As he proved again on Wednesday.
One day after Liverpool signed Nunez, Mane took part in a community football match in Senegal.
In a photograph circling on Twitter, the former Southampton winger can be seen trudging in the rain-laden sludge in his hometown of Bambali.
Having played over 50 games for Jurgen Klopp this past season, Mane, who also won the Africa Cup of Nations for his country in the winter, could be forgiven if he decided to jet off to a tropical country and lounge by a swimming pool until the Reds’ pre-season training begins next month.
The fact that he still finds time for his boyhood community during his time off speaks volumes for Mane as a man.
And if he does indeed join Bayern, the vast majority of Liverpool supporters will wish him well.
