The Liverpool legend posed with a couple of the Everton squad – but fans weren’t too happy!
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was all smiles with an Everton duo on Wednesday afternoon – and it didn’t please supporters of his old club!
Indeed, Carragher is a Liverpool legend but now works as a Sky Sports pundit, meaning he occasionally has to interview players from the opposition.
He posted a light-hearted picture on his Instagram account of himself all smiles with Ross Barkley but fans of the Reds didn’t take it all that lightly.
‘Carra’ was interviewing the pair ahead of the upcoming Merseyside derby – a bigger game for Liverpool than it is Everton on this occasion – and he admitted the Toffees duo were full of confidence going into the Premier League clash.
But the responses of many Liverpool supporters suggested it was a controversial post from Carragher, who certainly seems to have annoyed some of the Kop by putting his arm around a great rival and having a laugh with them.
It’s a free country, of course, but was this a wise move from the ex-Liverpool defender or would he have been better off leaving Everton well enough alone on social media?
