Liverpool kicked off the Premier League return in style with a 3-1 victory away to Aston Villa tonight.

In their first league game since the World Cup ended, Jurgen Klopp’s side picked up a major three points away at Villa Park.

Prior to the game, this was considered a difficult game for Liverpool, who were without Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz to name a few.

But Mohamed Salah fired Klopp’s troops into a 1-0 lead, before Virgil van Dijk doubled it before the break.

Ollie Watkins pulled one back for Aston Villa on the hour mark, but 18-year-old Stefan Bajcetic sealed the points by restoring the visitors’ two-goal lead on 81 minutes.

Two minutes earlier, Bajcetic had replaced Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson who received a bit of stick from the home supporters while returning to the dugout.

And here’s how Henderson – a £20 million signing in 2011 [Eurosport] – reacted to the supporter, shushing the fan in question.

Summer signing Calvin Ramsay can be seen in the background of the shot, smirking at Aston Villa supporter in question.

Suffice to say that Henderson got the last laugh, as did Liverpool who, as mentioned, scored a third goal moments later.

The Anfield outfit remain sixth in the Premier League table, but now they’re only five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur – and they have a game in hand.

It’ll be a very interesting second half of the campaign for Liverpool.
