West Ham United teammates Darren Randolph and Dimitri Payet came up against each other in the Republic of Ireland’s match against France.

West Ham United midfielder Dimitri Payet showed his class after France knocked out the Republic of Ireland in Euro 2016 earlier today.
France were given an almighty scare by the Irish for much of the match, but ultimately their class told.
Two goals from Antoine Greizmann sent France through to the next round, after Robbie Brady had given Martin O’Neill’s side the lead in the second minute of the match.
Greizmann’s goals both came in the later stages of the contest, and it was a heartbreaking way for Ireland to go out.
The devastation of Ireland’s exit was evident of many of their players’ faces at full-time, and Payet’s West Ham teammate Darren Randolph was left in tears at the end of clash.
Payet obviously noticed Randolph’s heartbreak, and rather than celebrating with the rest of his national squad, he went over to give the goalkeeper a hug to console him.

Payet’s France team will now go through to the quarter-finals at Euro 2016, where they will meet the winners of England’s match against Iceland tomorrow.
