Tottenham’s Vincent Janssen scores their third goal from the penalty spot
The big moment
Vincent Janssen’s goal against Gillingham padded the scoreline rather than influenced the result, but it could be a vital one for Tottenham’s season.
The Dutchman was a big money signing in the summer and is expected to make a big impact now with Harry Kane out injured.
He had played in six Premier League and Champions League matches so far this season, but only started one of them.

With a lack of match practice he had looked a little rusty too. Prior to last night he had attempted eight shots, landed three on target, and scored with none of them.
So with Spurs at 2-0 up at home to League One side Gillingham, when awarded a penalty, the Dutchman bravely stepped up to take it.
He did not fluff his lines, scoring from the spot, his first competitive goal in a Tottenham shirt.
The goal will be a weight off his shoulders and give him confidence for the upcoming Premier League games, starting with the match away to Middlesbrough this weekend.
