Tottenham Hotspur’s last match against Liverpool saw Victor Wanyama score one of the goals of the season.

The midfielder unleashed an uncharacteristic rocket of a strike which lit up a dull game and sparked late drama which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Wanyama is spending the international break in full training for Tottenham as he builds up his fitness ahead of the club’s upcoming match against Liverpool.

Tottenham denied Kenya’s request to call Wanyama up for international duty during this break.

He picked up a knee injury during their pre-season tour and missed the final matches in the USA.

Wanyama is yet to feature for Spurs this season, although he was an unused substitute in the defeat to Watford.

That was a game where Tottenham were crying out for a fully fit Wanyama, and this break is an opportunity for him to get up to speed ahead of their Wembley clash against Liverpool.
