Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia proved himself a true battle against Olympiakos by playing on despite his eyesight being impaired.
The Ecuadorian sufffered a clash of heads early on and a huge bump swelled up above his eye, which appeared to close and restrict his vision.
Critics joked that he is so one-footed anyway that being one-eyed did not hinder him, and it did not affect his performance, contributing valuably to United’s display considering the problem.
After the match Valencia posted a photo on Twitter from the United dressing room showing just how badly the injury had developed – but he certainly considers it was worth it.
United fans will have wanted to see some fighting spirit, and players who did not shy away from a challenge, and Valencia certainly defined that against Olympiakos.
