Tyler Roberts joined Leeds United in January, but injury had prevented him making his debut before Sunday’s game.

There was no doubt ahead of Leeds’ latest pre-season game that the headline news was the fact that Tyler Roberts found himself in the Whites’ squad for the first time since his seven-figure move to Elland Road in January.
The forward signed from West Brom for £2.5 million during the previous window – fee reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post – but suffered a shin injury before he got a chance to make his debut for the Championship side.
There were also concerns as he missed the opening two pre-season friendlies under Marcelo Bielsa, especially given the lack of attacking depth available to the new head coach right now.
However, most of those concerns would have been alleviated as Roberts finally got the chance to make his Leeds bow at Roots Hall, as the Whites came from behind to draw 1-1 with Southend.

Roberts did not make an impact on the scoreline, but there were nice touches from the youngster as he adopted a position on the right wing as Kemar Roofe led the line against the League One side, and he certainly looked determined to get onto the ball and start making up for lost time.
And after the game, Leeds posted a number of images from the contest, including one depicting the 19-year-old coming onto the pitch to replace Laurens De Bock.

Here is the moment Roberts made his Leeds debut…
