The Tottenham Hotspur striker’s barren spell goes on.
Paul Pogba scored the only goal of the game on Monday as France beat the Netherlands 1-0 in World Cup qualifying.
The French midfielder opened the scoring on the half-hour mark with a goal that proved enough to give Didier Deschamps’s side all three points.
It was a good night for Tottenham Hotspur pair Hugo Lloris and Moussa Sissoko as France moved top of Group A, but it was another disappointing one for Vincent Janssen.
The Dutch striker drew another blank last night and he still only has one goal for his club since sealing a £17 million move to Tottenham in the summer – a penalty against Gillingham in a 5-0 League Cup win for Spurs.
And there were a couple of images which sum up how the 22-year-old must be feeling over his form.
It’s not a great run of form for Janssen, but he needs only look at his Tottenham team-mate Son Heung-min for a bit of inspiration.
Son, who has netted five goals in all competitions for the Lilywhites this season, endured a poor first season in North London following a big-money move from Bayer Leverkusen, but fast forward 12 months and the South Korean is arguably their most important player at the moment.
Spurs fans will hope that the same can be said of Janssen when he adjusts to life in England.
