Tottenham’s Erik Lamela was back watching former club Roma last night.
Tottenham Hotspur hero Erik Lamela was spotted in Italy last night watching former club Roma play.
Sportsmediaset posted a photo on Twitter of the Argentine at the Stadio Olimpico for Roma’s 1-1 draw with Bologna.
Spurs bought Lamela from Roma for a club record fee in 2013, and the winger still clearly retains an affection for the club.
Had he not been enjoying such a stellar time at Tottenham then his trip back to Rome could have sparked transfer talk, but there is little chance of the North London side letting him go this summer – and the Serie A side likely could not afford him.
Just 24 hours earlier Lamela scored the third goal in Tottenham’s 3-0 demolition of Manchester United, a match which signified a shift in power between the two teams.
After a mixed first couple of seasons at White Hart Lane, Lamela has emerged as a key player, and while he could still do with getting on the scoresheet a little more regularly than he does, this season he has made significant progress and could end the campaign with a title medal if results go their way.
