Eric Dier’s latest post on social media website Instagram has added further intrigue to Erik Lamela’s absence at Tottenham Hotspur.
Lamela has been out since October, but there lack of clarity over his current injury status has been rather surprising.
Spurs have kept Lamela’s fitness levels very much under wraps, after the winger picked up a hip problem back in 2016.
Lamela was initially only expected to be out for a matter of weeks, but the latest news is that he will miss the entirety of the season.
There have been suggestions that Argentine midfielder may have played his last match for Tottenham.
However, just days after the news that Lamela was set to miss the rest of the season, Dier’s Instagram post proves that he was at Hotspur Way today.
Even in Lamela’s absence, Tottenham have coped well, with the North London side currently sitting in second place in the Premier League table.
