One of the many advantages for Moussa Sissoko of moving from Newcastle United to Tottenham Hotspur is it is just a quick trip away from his native France on the Eurostar.

The midfielder put that into action yesterday by making a return to his homeland to meet with a high profile victim of alleged crime.

Sissoko met with ‘Theo’, who The Mail reported alleged police brutality after an arrest which required surgery, sparking riots in Paris.

The French international footballer used his visit to plea for calm, writing on Twitter: “May the truth and justice be restored for Theo and his family. And for peace in our cities and in our neighborhoods.”

Sissoko presented the PSG fan with a Tottenham Hotspur shirt signed by the first team squad.

Sissoko did not feature for Spurs at the weekend against Stoke City, an unnamed substitute for the second successive match.
