The new Leeds United boss was involved in an embarrassing incident back in 2004.
Thomas Christiansen takes a tumble from Michael Ballack
Leeds United’s new boss Thomas Christiansen is certainly not a household name to many. His career is certainly an interesting one. He grew up in the Barcelona academy and the Dane played once for Spain whilst in the Barca B side as a youngster.
He went on to forge the best years of his career in Germany. The striker’s career appeared to be on the backburner when he was relegated with Danish side Herfolge but he ended up joining VfL Bochum and producing the best football of his career.
In the 2002-03 Bundesliga season, he scored 21 goals to share the top-scorer award with Giovane Elber.
But one of his more infamous moments in his playing career is certainly a rather embarrassing one.
When playing for Hannover against Bayern Munich in November 2004 he got fairly up close and personal with German legend Michael Ballack.

When the former Chelsea man leant in slightly with his forehead, Christiansen embarrassingly tumbled to the floor. It was a move which former Leeds flop Adryan, whose now infamous dive v Derby County in November 2014 went viral, would have been proud of. Ballack was then booked.

But such behaviour does not go down well in West Yorkshire. Hopefully Leeds fans will not see an influx of such antics from their players under the new manager’s influence.
